What is a 13F-NT

A notice that says “my holdings are reported by another entity”. It has no portfolio: the portfolio appears in the filer's 13F.

Why it exists

When a group has several entities (the manager, the fund, the parent), one can report the holdings for all. The others file a 13F-NT naming the filer, so nothing is counted twice.

A real case: Bill Ackman

Since the second quarter of 2026, Pershing Square Capital Management files a 13F-NT: Ackman's portfolio is reported by Pershing Square Inc. That is why his page follows the new entity and shows the combined history.

How we show it

If a manager's latest filing is a 13F-NT, its profile shows the latest 13F with holdings and says who reports the positions since then, with a link to that profile.

Frequently asked questions

Does a 13F-NT mean the fund sold everything?

No. It only means the positions are reported by another entity of the same group.
