Public corrections log

When a figure on the site was published with an error and gets corrected, it is logged here: what was wrong, what changed, when and on what evidence.

  1. Corrected

Well-known investor pages: “What did they buy?” and “What did they sell?”

    The error
Most increased or reduced positions were shown without the change in the number of shares, because that figure only came for the 12 largest moves. For Berkshire Hathaway, second quarter of 2026, it was missing for Kroger (−22%), Capital One (−58%), Nucor (−52%) and Macy's (+142%), and a note said it was missing “because two classes are added together”, which was not true in those cases. In addition, the weight of an exit took a single share class: Alphabet in Pershing Square's (Bill Ackman) portfolio showed “was 0.6%” when its two classes added up to 0.69%.
    What changed
Every increased or reduced position shows its change in the number of shares; only a row that adds up two classes of the same company (Alphabet A and C, Lennar A and B) does not, and the note says so only in that case. The weight of an exit adds up all its classes (Alphabet at Pershing Square: 0.7%). On manager pages, “What changed” adds up share classes before picking the 12 largest moves (it changed on 137 of 3,103 pages with the data of 10/20) and the number of material moves is no longer capped at the ones listed (34 pages; ValueAct: it said 11, there are 12). Investor pages now also list small exits: Constellation Brands at Berkshire (0.04% of the portfolio).
  2. Corrected

Insider buying (Form 4): /directivos, the home page and the insider section of stock pages

    The error
Purchases made by insiders and their funds in the company's IPO (from the underwriters at the offering price, or in a SPAC's concurrent private placement) were shown and added up as open-market purchases, labelled “Purchase of US$ 1M or more”. Examples: Iambic Therapeutics, $11.5M at $16 on 10/16/2026, the day and price of its IPO, and City Therapeutics, $3.06M at $18 on 10/19/2026, also the day and price of its IPO.
    What changed
A purchase is “in the IPO” if, on the same day, the same Form 4 has a footnote naming the initial public offering (or a SPAC's private placement units) and its own footnote does not say it was made in the open market; a purchase of the same company at the same price within 3 days also is. It is shown with that label and is not added to totals, lists or rankings, like pre-scheduled (10b5-1) trades. On /directivos, the week to 10/20 went from 45 purchases totalling $92.0M to 41 totalling $77.0M (4 IPO purchases totalling $14.9M: Iambic, City Therapeutics and Retension Pharmaceuticals). Over 6 months, insider buying changes for 40 companies, 24 with a stock page; for example, Pershing Square USA goes from $321.5M to $31.5M and Parabilis Medicines from $431.4M to $7.4M.
  3. Corrected

Portfolio value for some managers and institutional value for some stocks (13F)

    The error
Some 13F filings mix rows in thousands and in dollars, or include an amendment that repeats the original portfolio, duplicated rows, or values in another unit. The site multiplied by 1,000 rows that were already correct (Banque Cantonale Vaudoise, second quarter of 2026: US$ 721,740 million instead of about 2,590 million, which also inflated Alcon's and Amrize's institutional value) or counted the same portfolio twice.
    What changed
The whole-filing scale is applied only when it brings values to market prices; an amendment with the same total and positions as the original replaces it; duplicated rows that explain the reported total count once; values ×10, ×1,000,000 and similar are corrected only with evidence from the manager itself. Filings with inconsistencies that have no safe reading are shown as filed, with a note, and are not added to totals.

13F portfolios: value of some positions, portfolio totals and stock pages

    The error
An automatic rule that detects positions reported in thousands of dollars also multiplied by 1,000 rows that were reported correctly: Berkshire class A entered at the class B price, filers who copied the value into the shares column, and preferreds with a $1,000 face value. Vinva Investment Management showed $106,640M in the second quarter of 2026 (its 13F adds up to $15,056M) and J. Stern & Co. $196,818M in the fourth quarter of 2025 (its 13F: $1,173M), with increases and cuts that never happened. In addition, the list of concentrated managers on each stock page mixed quarters.
    What changed
A row is only corrected by 1,000 with evidence (the same position by the same manager in the adjacent quarter, or the price of the other holders) and never if it would become more than half of the portfolio; Berkshire class A at the class B price is moved to class B, and a row with shares in another unit no longer produces “increased” or “reduced”. The total of 1,119 portfolios of 530 managers since 2013 changes, and 1,013 now match the total they reported to the SEC (Vinva $15,056M, J. Stern $1,173M). Each stock page shows the concentrated managers of the same quarter as the rest of the page.

What gets logged and what does not

  • Logged: a figure that was published wrong because of a processing, interpretation or display error, with the page or dataset affected, the change made, its status and the source.
  • Not logged: routine data updates. When a manager files a new form or an amendment, pages change because the public information changed, not because there was an error.
  • Whoever reports an error is not shown: no names, email addresses or any other details of the people who write in are published.

How to report an error

Write to me at contacto@gestorlens.com with the page affected, the figure you think is wrong and, if possible, its source (for example, the filing on EDGAR). I review the case and, where appropriate, correct the information and log it here.
